Funding Resources of Interest to Graduate Students in Sociology
The PSU Sociology department admits approximately 15 Master’s students each fall. Some of these 15 students receive departmental funding in exchange for working as a teaching assistant or research assistant. Department remits full-time tuition (12 credits for first-year masters students, 9 credits for second-year masters students and Ph.D. students. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide departmental funding to all students. This document has information regarding other funding opportunities at PSU and you are strongly encouraged to apply for them.

PSU Laurels Graduate Tuition Remission Program

Goal: enhance enrollment diversity.
Financial need is taken into consideration.
Preference give to Oregon residents.
Approximately 100 tuition remissions were given in 2004-05
Deadline: April 15.
University Studies, Graduate Mentor

Tuition remission and monthly stipend.
Facilitate 50-minute mentor sessions with undergraduate students enrolled in University Studies courses.
Deadline: January 31.
