Interests: Mind-body approaches in health care, health behavior, alternative, complementary and integrative medicine, stress, health disparities and rural sociology.
Current Projects: Advancing and providing oversight for the Department’s externally funded research; enhancing and building research partnerships; developing and teaching the course, the Sociology of Integrative Medicine; and working to fund and implement a project in Coos and Douglas counties to determine causes and solutions for asthma disparities through community-based participatory research with Coos County Public Health, Douglas County Public Health, the Oregon Asthma Program, the AHRQ Oregon Asthma Learning Partnership Coalition and Matthew Carlson.
